Guide to Photographing Your Product in 360°

For use in your store with our 360° product feature on Tiendanube

Updated over a week ago

🧰 What do you need?

  1. A turntable

It can be manual (with markings or visual references) or motorized.

  2. A smartphone with a good camera or a professional camera

  3. A tripod or phone mount

It must not move during the entire session.

  4. Good lighting

Ideal: white light, without harsh shadows. Use natural light or a light box.

  5. A neutral, clean background

White or light gray. No distracting objects or textures.

🌀 How to take the photos

  1. Set up your mini studio

Place the product in the center of the turntable. Mount the camera on the tripod and make sure it doesn’t move.

  2. Use manual or pro mode (if your camera allows it)

    • Same exposure for all photos

    • Low ISO (100–200)

    • Manual focus so it doesn’t change between shots

  3. Take between 16 and 24 photos

Rotate the turntable between 15° and 22° each time (360° divided by the number of photos).

The product must always be centered.

The more photos you take, the smoother the rotation will look.

  4. Check that all photos are properly aligned

Verify that the lighting, background, and framing are consistent.

🖼 How to upload photos to the platform

  1. Upload all the photos at once, without renaming them

You don’t need to give them special names. Just make sure they’re in the right order.

  2. From the image tray, click on each one to add them to the timeline

The app will assemble the slideshow in the order you click on them.

(E.g., click on the first one, then the second, and so on until you’ve added all 16–24 images.)

  3. Preview the 360° view and confirm

If everything looks good, the product is ready to be displayed in 360° in your store.

⛔️ Common mistakes to avoid

  • Taking fewer than 16 photos (the panorama will be incomplete)

  • Moving the camera between shots

  • Changes in lighting or shadows between photos

  • A background with objects, stains, or distracting colors

  • Autofocus (can vary from photo to photo)

🎁 Extra tip

If you’re going to take a lot of 360° photos of different products, you should use a motorized turntable and good continuous lighting. It’s an investment that greatly improves quality and saves you time.
