What does it do? Show related product suggestions on the product page or in the cart. When your customer is about to buy, they see a section like "You may also like" featuring products that pair well with what they are viewing — and they can add them without leaving the page.
Note: This widget does not apply discounts. Its purpose is to increase the average ticket by displaying relevant additional products.
The Three Widget Modes
Mode 1 — Specific Product with Manual Complementaries
Best for: When you know exactly which products you want to suggest for a specific item.
Example: On the "Running Shoes X" page, you always show "Technical Socks," "Headband," and "Sports Bottle."
How to configure it:
In "Main Product," search for and select the product where the widget will appear.
In "Complementary Products," search for and add the items you want to suggest.
Set how many to display at once.
Choose whether to show it on the product page, in the cart, or both.
Mode 2 — By Category
Best for: When you want the widget to appear on all products within a category without configuring them one by one.
Variant A — Main Category + Manual Complementaries: The widget appears on all products in a category and always shows the same fixed complementaries.
Example: All products in "Cell Phones" show the same accessories: "Tempered Glass," "Case," "Charging Cable."
Variant B — Main Category + Complementary Category (Smart Order): Suggestions come from another category. Nuby ranks the results based on which products were most frequently bought alongside items from that category in your store. It updates automatically with each new sale.
Example: The "Women's Clothing" category pulls from the "Accessories" category. Nuby prioritizes the accessories that have actually sold best with women's clothing.
How to configure it:
In "Source Type," choose Category and select the main category.
In "Complementaries," choose whether to add individual products or select a source category.
Mode 3 — Full Intelligent (Smart Mode) ✨
Best for: If you don't want to configure anything manually, this mode works for the entire store at once. Nuby analyzes real purchase history and shows the complementaries that customers chose most frequently in the same order.
Ideal for: Large catalogs where manual configuration is tedious, and stores with at least 30-50 orders so the algorithm has sufficient data.
How it works:
Nuby analyzes orders from the last 90 days.
It detects which products appear together in the same purchase most often.
It ranks them from highest to lowest co-occurrence.
If a product lacks data, it fills the list with recent products from the store.
It updates automatically with every new paid order.
Only one Smart Mode widget can be active per store. If a product already has a manual widget, the manual one takes priority.
How to activate it:
Go to Widgets → New widget → Complementary Products.
Select "Full Intelligent (Smart Mode)".
Save and publish — no product configuration required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to create anything in Tiendanube?
No. The complementary products widget does not apply discounts; it only suggests products. It requires no configuration in TN.
What happens if a complementary product runs out of stock?
The widget automatically hides it.
Does Smart Mode replace the widgets I already configured manually?
No. Manual widgets always have priority. Smart Mode only acts on products without a specific widget assigned.
How long does Smart Mode take to learn?
Hardly anytime. Upon activation, Nuby analyzes the last 90 days of history in the background. If you already have sales, the suggestions are intelligent from the very first moment.
Does the widget in the cart interfere with the payment process?
No. It is only a visual suggestion; it does not block or modify the checkout process.
